History
Daniel Cameron established D.M. Cameron Builders in 1982.
From humble beginnings Danny started with a labourer carrying out small
jobs and then sub – contracting to others. After a few years growing to
3 Builders & 1 Labourer.
In 1988 D.M.C. had become a contractor with large projects under their
belt and were now employing 10 tradesmen.
Due to demand, in 1990 DMC became a Main Contractor. This involved being
in sole charge of large projects from design to hand over. It also
involved employing other types of tradesman, such as Joiners, Plumbers,
Slater’s, Electricians, Landscapers ect. The demands put on the company
were great and many lessons were learned.
By 1996 the Company was now generating a turnover of up to £800,000.00
and employee numbers had risen to 25.
In 2003 the Company became Limited with Gavin and Ewan also becoming Directors. As you would expect we continued to trade as we always had.
In 2008 Steven Hamilton who had worked for us for 5 years also joined as a Director. Also in 2008 we set up an Electrical and Networks Division bringing in
William Black as a Director to run the new Division.
Today the Company turnover exceeds £1.5m with a large number of repeat Clients. The workforce has now increased to 5 Office Staff, 7 Builders, 5 Plumbers, 12 Joiners and 3 Electricians.
